A 30-year-old man appeared before the eSikhawini Regional Court on Monday and was convicted and sentenced to 15 years for rape.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Jay Naicker, the victim (14) was raped by her uncle since 2008.
‘This usually took place when they were alone at home. The abuse continued until 2012 when the victim fell pregnant.
‘When confronted by her neighbours about her pregnancy, she told them what had transpired.’
