MELMOTH police arrested six people for the possession of a substantial amount of dagga.
The officers were patrolling on the R66 between Melmoth and eShowe when they spotted a LDV with several people sitting on the back.
A portion of the back of the bakkie was covered with a black sail.
They stopped the vehicle and on searching the vehicle, found nine bags of dagga weighing approximately 50kg.
The street value is approximately R12 000.
The vehicle occupants were arrested and were to appear in the Melmoth Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
