ON paper it may be termed a mismatch, but Thanda Royal Zulu are determined to cause a major upset when they take on the mighty Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus in Pretoria tomorrow.
Keen to bounce back after their 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Vasco Da Gama on Sunday, the Amabhubesi will also be inspired by the fierce fight they put up when going down on penalties to Orlando Pirates in last year’s Nedbank Cup clash.
‘The scoreline against Vasco does not reflect the true performance. We had a number of chances in the first half which, if we had taken them, would have changed the game entirely,’ said Thanda captain Diamond Thopola.
‘We want to show our true fighting spirit on Saturday, and hope we will have plenty of travelling fans to support us.’

It will leave Richards Bay at 5am on Saturday to arrive at 3pm for the 5.30pm kick-off, and return at 9pm.
