FELIXTON claimed the bragging rights by winning three of five matches against Grantleigh Schools in their annual derby.
In the First X1 boys match played at the Izingwe Field in Felixton, it was the home side who won the toss and elected to bat first.
Felixton posted 189 runs thanks to openers Abdullah Mahomed (33) and Jandré Viljoen (26).
Grantleigh’s time at the crease was a short stay as they were dismissed for 75, after Michael Dalais 3/18 in 4, Reikert Viljoen 3/14 in 7 and Sheldon Getkate 2/8 in 8 ripped through their batting line-up to claim a comfortable 114 run victory.
Grantleigh claimed a one wicket victory in the U15 boys game.
Felixton College batted first and were dismissed cheaply (89).
Grantleigh reached 90 for the loss of 9 wickets, with Felixton’s Renaldo Smit taking 6/17 in 8 and Riley Rampersadh taking 2 wickets.
Grantleigh showcased their dominance in the boys U13 match played at Grantleigh when they claimed an impressive 4 wicket victory.
Felixton smashed 124 all out with Sizwe Ntanzi top-scoring with an impressive 42.
Felixton claimed a 36 run victory at the Dickson Oval in the U11 boys game.
The host team put on a huge performance, with Connor Lendrum smashing 45 to help his side to 138 and Caleb Picton posting bowling figures of 7/16 in 4.3 overs, which included a hat-trick.
Grantleigh were bowled out for 102.
The first team girls match saw Felixton claiming the honours.
The Felixton lasses scored 101/8, with Kelly Motzouris top-scoring with 44.
Grantleigh were dismissed for 69 thanks to Sena Mnqadi taking 3/9 and Sthelo Kubheka ending with figures of 3/6.
