King of Ging beaten by a girl

Wimbledon Doubles' Champion Natalie Grandin was out on the court in Mtunzini.

WIMBLEDON Doubles’ Champion Natalie Grandin was out on the Mtunzini Country Club tennis courts on Saturday giving advice to all local tennis players as well as playing matches against some of the Zululand ‘greats’.

The professional player, who hails from Durban, attended a fun tennis day to assist in raising funds for new tennis courts.

The day started with a fun kiddies tournament with their parents, then Natalie had an informal and informative chat to the children about life on the tennis circuit and what it takes to be a tennis star.

Grandin then accepted the challenge from Mtinzini’s top male player, Chris ‘Evert’ Hill.

It was a close match with fatigue (or too many courage shooters) taking it’s toll on the ‘King of Ging’ to concede the match to Natalie.

The supporters then challenged themselves to face one of Natalie’s serves or to a rally, before ending the day off with a braai.
