eSikhaweni cruise to league win
The win means eSikhaweni finished on top of the second division.
ESHOWE’S dream of moving up into the cricket league’s first division were dashed when they lost their second division final against eSikhaweni on a perfect Saturday afternoon at the eShowe Sports Club.
Batting first, eSikhaweni’s Sphelele Sibiya top scored with 26 runs in their 116 all out after the last wicket fell in the 20th over.
Philani Cuembe scored 22 before being dismissed LBW by Bruce Radley, who took three wickets for eShowe.
Brian Carpenter, Angus Kramer and Lloyd Walker took two wickets each.

eShowe’s bowling let them down with 38 extras, made up of 29 wides, five leg byes and four no balls.
Chasing what should have been an easy target, eShowe’s batsmen never really got in and wickets fell at regular intervals.
It took the visitors only 18 overs to bundle eShowe out with only 62 runs on the scoreboard.
The only eShowe batsman to reach double figures was Malcolm Munro, who scored 12 runs before being caught by off Lindani Khumalo’s bowling.
Khumalo took a four wicket haul, while Cuembe claimed three wickets.
The win means eSikhaweni finished on top of the second division and will now play against bottom of the first division, Mtubatuba, in a promotion/relegation match.
