THE body of Bhekizenzo Bonginkosi Gumbi, the man who went missing in Nseleni on 27 December, has been found in KwaMbonambi.
Gumbi, who was using his Toyota Hilux to transport commuters in the Nseleni area, was last seen picking up some customers.
According to police spokesperson Captain Mdlalose, Gumbi’s body was found with his hands tied behind his back in some bushes next to the Ethembeni Care Centre.
‘Some young boys herding cattle stumbled upon the decomposing body on Thursday morning,’ said Mdlalose.
The boys told their parents about the gruesome discovery and having read the Zululand Observer article relating to a missing man, the parents informed the Empangeni police.
‘Gumbi’s family were called and they identified the body from the clothes he was wearing. The cause of death has still has to be determined since the body was in an advanced state of decomposition. We will only know the full details once the autopsy has been completed,’ said Mdlalose
Gumbi’s white Toyota Hilux is still missing.
