Straight ‘A’s for Nondumiso

HEAD BOY at Hluma High School , Nondumiso Mhlongo walked away a happy chap after realising he had achieved an astounding eight distinctions in his matric pass.

Although he’s always attained straight As in high school, Nondumiso says he never stopped wanting to do better.

‘This year, more especially, I wanted to give my all into my school work. I decided to pull up my socks.’

‘I was always among the top five in high school but this year I wanted to be number one,’ he said.

Beaming with pride and joy was Hluma High School’s Principal, Erick Bongani Zulu who was ecstatic at his pupil’s results.

‘This reflects the quality of our teaching and proves there is good coordination between our pupils and teachers.

‘The school embarked on a self-created extra lessons camp last year which was intended to assist matrics with any challenges they faced.

‘Nondumiso was one of the kids who attended this regularly,’ Principal Zulu added.

An amused Nondumiso joked about how having a strict principal helps you accomplish these distinctions.

He will go on to pursue his passion of studying a BSc Metallurgical Engineering at Wits University and one day hopes to give his family the life they have always dreamed of.
