THOUSANDS flocked to Alkantstrant Beach in Richards Bay for the uThungulu Beach Festival on New Year’s Day.
Music fans were entertained by top artists such as Malini, Somnandi, Avante, Abanqobi, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, backed up by local talent.
In ensuring a safe new year’s day, the police searched all vehicles for drugs, alcohol and illegal weapons.
Among those who attended the spectacular event was KZN MEC for Tourism, Mike Mabuyakhulu, uThungulu Deputy Mayor Thulani Mashaba, uMhlathuze Municipality Deputy Mayor Vera Gumbi, KZN Police Commissinior Mmamomunye Ngobeni and Minister of Police Nathi Nhleko.
