High marks for Glen Park pupils
Most of the 540 pupils were awarded certificates of merit.
AT the school’s annual prize-giving shortly before break-up day, Hlhuhluwe’s Glen Park Primary pupils were awarded for their outstanding achievements.
Most of the 540 pupils were awarded certificates of merit, with a lot of these achieving well above the school’s target pass rate of 75%.
Glen Park Primary’s mission is to ‘develop pupils who have vision, purpose, dedication, potential, timing, ambition, enthusiasm and discipline so as to fit the needs of our country, continent and the world’.
The school’s vision is for pupils to be able to speak, read and write the official languages fluently, accurately and confidently, as well as to be able to compete in the scientific world and acquire all necessary skills, values and attitudes required in life.
The prize-giving opened with some of the older children reciting poetry, singing songs and acting out short theatrical productions.
During the prize-giving, a whole host of pupils received certificates for having achieved over 90% for the Annual National Assessment (ANA) and some attained the perfect score of 100%.
