Tulleken rules the squash courts

ALEX Tulleken was crowned king of the squash courts last night at Empangeni Rugby Football Club, when he beat Jeremy Kirkwood 3-1 in the Zululand Squash Championships finals.

Alex smashed, lobbed and volleyed his way through the competition that was played over four rounds.

The talented youngster managed to stamp his mark on the competition when beating Nadia du Plessis, Walter Muhl, Denzil Lohrmann and Paul Gouge to cement his spot in the finals.

The final was hard-fought between Alex and Jeremy, with neither player giving an inch.

But in the end, it was Tulleken who reigned supreme.

In the third and fourth play-off, veteran Paul Gouge beat Pierre Els 3-1.
