Dazzling display from Thanda

Thanda Royal Zulu need repeat performance.

THANDA Royal Zulu FC will be looking to build on their amazing last outing when they shocked the NFD world by hammering log leaders Golden Arrows in a magical 3-1 win at Chatsworth on Sunday.

Amabhubesi’s new head coach-in-waiting, Vladislav Heric said it was the kind of performance that would have beaten any side in the PSL.

‘The boys translated everything we had done on the training pitch to perfection, stringing together long passages of passing that eventually had the home supporters counting out loud – even into the 30’s.

‘Arrows were exhausted from chasing shadows and were never in the game.’

Michael Gumede, Nzuzo Luthuli and Siduduzo Dlamini all found the back of the net with the kind of finishing that has been lacking this season.

‘We spent the whole of last week on shooting drills and it paid off handsomely,’ said Heric, who praised the insatiable appetite of his charges.

‘They don’t want to go home after practices; they want to learn more and improve more – even Ace Bhengu, who is the league’s top scorer.’

This Saturday is a crucial home game against new front-runners, Jomo Cosmos.

It remains to be seen if Thanda can overcome their average form at the uMhlathuze Stadium, where they have drawn most of their matches.

Thanda had the better of Cosmos earlier this year and will be looking for more of the same in their quest for promotion.

All the home fans ask is to witness the vast improvement that has been abundantly evident in their away fixtures.

They will also be hoping to hear the good news that local government and business have performed a financial rescue act that will enable the club to rise to the PSL ranks.
