Port and Municipal authorities Neutered

It appears that Port and Municipal Authorities are neutered. As a long-time proud resident of our city I am always shocked and heartbroken at the filth evident on a daily basis at our prime public spaces, in particular Naval Island, Bay Hall and Alkandstrand areas.

Littering in public places is an offence which the general spoiled public ignores. The authorities do not seem to possess the commitment and the guts to seriously protect our environment. Cleaning some of the filth on a daily basis is a slack knee jerk reaction by authorities to an ongoing problem.

If Alkandstrand can be shut down due to a shipwreck to protect the environment and the public why can’t the same be done to our prime public spaces such as Naval Island and Bay Hall area until the public toes the line? Charge us if you must for maintenance if we can’t clean up after ourselves.

I am certain that soon the public would begin to learn respect for environment so that we can all enjoy clean and healthy public spaces.

Go on, I dare the authorities
