God and Science series
Derek Fish presents another talk in his monthly 'God and Science" series.
A LARGE number of Zululanders were entertained at Anchor Church in Mtunzini when Derek Fish presented a talk as part of his monthly ‘God and Science’ series. The audience were involved in a session on mathematics and were amazed by a series of ‘Matha-magic’ tricks followed by a presentation on the wonderful design in creation, which is often unnoticed.
Derek compared the abilities of various mathematicians ranging from himself, at the bottom of the list, to Andrew Wiles, the brilliant British genius.
According to Fish, their thoughts were contrasted with God’s thoughts in the words of Isaiah 55:9, ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’
Last month’s talk in the series, to mark World Space Week: ‘Space: can man conquer it?’, was presented with the help of Derek’s daughter Jessica, who attended space camp in the USA.
The appreciative audience was fascinated by facts and dynamic and dangerous demos of how astronauts stay alive in space.
According to Fish the ground-work for going to space was done centuries ago by Kelvin, Pascal and Newton, all great scientists and committed believers in God.
