Outstanding season for eShowe rugby

Brian Cope named Player of the Year.

AFTER kicking off the season with a win in the Bozas Cup, eShowe found Hluhluwe their Achille’s Heel against whom they lost in crucial games.

All these matches could have gone either way, but Hluhluwe sneaked past eShowe in the dying minutes of the games.

eShowe did, however, have a good season and are hoping to build on the past successes.

On the junior rugby front, Rob van Tooren and his team of dedicated helpers have continued to grow the numbers of players with over 60 practicing on a Wednesday evening.

The biggest problem facing the juniors is the lack of match opportunities in Zululand.

A new committee has been elected for the new year which will be led by Johnny Pinto as Chairman.

Vice Chairman will be Van Tooren, Secretary/Treasurer Denise Coetzee, Captain Jotham Maduna, Clubman Duart Prinsloo and Coach Mike Coetzee.

Additional members are Gert and Joey Steyn.
