CONVICTED rapist Sandile Mnqayi (26) was sentenced to life imprisonment on Wednesday in the Empangeni Regional Court.
Mnqayi was found guilty of raping a 28-year-old mentally challenged woman.
The victim was at home in Ntambananana last month when Mnqayi approached and raped her.
A case of rape was opened at Ntambananana police station and the docket was taken over by the Empangeni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, who later arrested the accused.
