Illegal dumping site must be attended to

CONSIDERABLE illegal dumping is taking place at Empangeni in Richem on Carpenter Road, which is a short street situated at the south entrance of the beautifully constructed Richem Secondary School.

This has now gone too far as the public and businesses that deal with renovations and landscaping now also dispose of their refuse there.

We take pride in our little town, which boast green lush vegetation and people of diverse cultures belonging as one.

The space where the dumping takes place is allocated for parking at the school.

This area is now also used as a road crossing by motorists with unroadworthy vehicles avoiding the normal route where traffic officials would otherwise catch and fine them.

We, the residents, would like this illegal road, which is linking Dumisane Makhaye Village and Richem at Carpenter Road to be closed,.

This road at times is also used by thieves who use it as a getaway route with goods stolen from our community.
