Cuppa for Cansa

Local ladies took a sip for a cause at the recent Cuppa for Cansa.

TABLES were decorated to a ‘tea’ at the recent Cuppa for CANSA event in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Hosted by Life Empangeni Garden Clinic together with the Umfolozi Casino Resort, ladies enjoyed a ‘cuppa’ tea and a sweet treat for the good cause.

CANSA’s cuppa theme for this year was ‘holistic care and support’ for those affected by cancer, with the focus on CANSA’s Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) programme.

The afternoon commenced with guest speaker Leoni Starker-Fox outlining the progression of cancer emotionally and how one needs support to remain positive throughout the journey.

Smitha Abraham then went on to explain the physical process of cancer and how to keep an eye out for warning signs that are crucial to catching it early.

She also mentioned regular checkups to prevent breast cancer.

Prizes were awarded to lucky draw winners.
