THE Reaching Out Domestic Violence Support Desk is appealing for funding for the 16 Days of Activism campaign against woman and child abuse.
The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children is an international campaign that takes place every year from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December (International Human Rights Day).
‘This year we are critically short of income and we can barely make ends meet to cover our daily operations, but the 16 Days campaign is a very important period on our calendar as we raise awareness on family violence and gender abuse,’ said Reaching Out MD, Purity Mdlalose.
‘We are appealing to the community for donations and to purchase our purple and white ribbons, which cost R5 each.’
