Jimmy Enslin of Richards Bay Rugby Club scooped the Zululand Rugby Player of the Year award at Zululand Sub Union awards dinner.
ZULULAND rugby clubs reflected on the highlights of the 2014 season and celebrated achievement awards at the annual Zululand Rugby Sub Union awards evening held on Wednesday at the Empangeni Rugby Football Club.
Zululand President Peter Hassard was happy with the way the season went and was impressed with development initiatives the rural communities headed by Charles Mndaweni.
Hluhluwe Rugby Club had a phenomenal season under coach Corrie Collins and captain Richard van Lelyveld.
The team remained unbeaten and won the Stewart Shield and Weber Cup trophies.
Richards Bay 1 fullback Jimmy Enslin was awarded the James Alexander Trophy for the Zululand Player of the Year after his standout season, which saw him represent the KZN rural side.
