Inspiring entrepreneurs through innovation

Small business stakeholders acquired business knowledge during an entrepreneur workshop in Richards Bay.

ESTABLISHED KZN business leaders shared their knowledge with small business stakeholders during a Seek-See-Seize entrepreneur workshop at the Civic Centre in Richards Bay on Saturday.

The Ithala Bank initiative was aimed at promoting and supporting enterprise development and entrepreneurship in the province.

Ithala Business Finance Marketer, Manqoba Mbatha, said the workshop objectives was to gather business-minded individuals under one roof where they can effectively share, develop and transform their innovative ideas into lucrative businesses.

‘Business finance is one component of empowering individuals to take their business dreams further. After this workshop, business people will emerge more knowledgeable and confident about how to adopt sustainable practices, gain the competitive edge, increase their market share and boost shareholder value,’ said Mbatha.

Visioneer Investments Director Thabo Qholosha delivered his keynote address on market access, opportunity analysis, funding, business strategy and the values and disciplines that individual entrepreneurs require to succeed.

‘An entrepreneur is someone who sees an opportunity, organises resources and uses innovation and tenacity to realise the potential of their vision and turn it into a business. The most critical element in any entrepreneurial venture is the entrepreneur herself or himself,’ he said.
