Local snappers on top form
Here are the winning photos from the October Beachcomber Photography Club competition.
THE October Beachcomber Photography Club competition as always produced entries of the highest calibre, with the theme ‘Environmental Portraiture’ eliciting fascinating images.
The Open category received the usual images of high standard while Gavin Fordham presented a magnificent presentation on HDR photography, showing beautiful examples of his work.
Winner of the Theme category and also overall Junior winner was Hein Beukes, his entry ‘Determination’ depicting the intense concentration of firefighters.
Runner-up and Certificate of Merit (COM) winner was Nobby Clark with ‘Ominous Sky’.
Certificate of Merit awards also went to Sias van Schalkwyk for ‘Majestic Kite’, Konrad Dorfling with ‘Free Hugs’ and Kobus Maree for his ‘Straws by the Colours’.
The theme for next month’s club meeting is ‘Tenderness’.
Visitors and photographers are invited as guests on the first Tuesday of every month at the NSRI base, next to Zululand Yacht Club in Richards Bay.
Induction for new members starts at 6.30pm, and the club meeting at 7pm sharp.
