LIKE the years before, the annual DICE (Do I Care Enough?) Celebrity Chef of the Year charity competition at the Umfolozi Casino Resort last Friday night proved to be a major success.

The massive turnout of supporters and the competing chefs’ culinary magic impressed all and sundry, making for a memorable occasion.

Yet, the underlying purpose of the big cook-off was, of course, raising funds to help equip DICE to fulfil its sole mission of supporting the underprivileged in our community.

An event of this magnitude demands much commitment from a variety of people.

DICE wants to express its sincere gratitude to all those parties who lent a helping hand to ensure the professionalism of the project – all the chefs and their teams who entered the competition in a spirit of goodwill, the sponsors who time and again come to the fore to support initiatives in aid of the needy, despite the tough economic climate and the public who, by buying tickets, again this year boosted DICE’s operational capacity considerably.

Rest assured that whatever role each of you played, the outcome will be that your contribution will soon bring relief to someone in a desperate situation.

God bless.
