A BRAZEN thief impersonating a police officer managed to scam a large sum of money in the form of airtime vouchers from a Richards Bay outlet.
Pretending to be a well-know local SAP officer, a woman said she was busy with an investigation and urgently needed airtime.
The person who was called obliged, and was swindled out of the substantial amount.
‘ We urge members of the public not to give airtime voucher numbers over the telephone,’ said SAP communications officer Capt Debbie Ferreira.
‘Do not become a target. Be alert!’
