Chuch’s garrick close to record

EMPANGENI angler Chuch Pereira reeled in a 16,2kg garrick caught in the Richards Bay harbour.

The chuffed fisherman said it was caught on live shad bait during a light tackle boat ‘fish off’ compo.

After fighting for 25 minutes, he landed the beauty with team Reel Deal, skippered by JP Fourie.

Incidentally, Pereira was 1kg short of the South African record.
