Kebble murder film released next month

IN what will surely go down as one of the film industry’s most bizarre cast of actors, three of South Africa’s most notorious guns-for-hire are playing themselves – for a R1 million price tag – in a new docu-drama about the killing of mining magnate Brett Kebble.
The documentary, 204: Getting Away with Murder, reveals the story behind the Kebble shooting in 2005, as told by the three killers, Nigel McGurk, Mikey Schultz and Faizel ‘Kappie’ Smith who were granted 204: full and permanent indemnity from prosecution in exchange for truthful testimony.
It poses questions around whether, in this instance, 204’s were offered and granted appropriately, fairly and with the best interests of the South African criminal justice system, the perpetrators and the general public at heart. Or did everyone involved in the fraud, corruption and murder, literally and figuratively ‘get away with murder’?
204: Getting Away with Murder will be released in South African cinemas on Friday 24 October.
