A young man was shot twice by an intruder as he left his home in Arboretum this morning.
It is believed the teenager was on his way to study at about 7am when he was accosted by a man in the yard.
Police suspect the motive for the shooting was robbery and are investigating a link between the Janine Geere shooting on Wednesday night and this morning’s attack.
The man was rushed to Netcare The Bay Hospital.
The shooting was caught on CCTV and police are searching for the suspect.

I really think that some extra effort should be done by local SAPS to patrol and ‘stop and search’ operations at night and early mornings. Before the public start to try and stop it.
When will this end??? Our City is basically being held hostage by these criminals! In the last 2 months there have been so many murders and attacks! Its time something gets done about this!

Ok something needs to be done asap about this. In the last 2 months crime has suddenly increased dramatically and enough is enough. The police need to do something about this before we have to start protecting ourselves and giving the criminals the same treatment we getting.
We as the community need to work hand in hand with the police inorder to catch these people/person because our kids are really not safe now during the day when we at work so as the community if we see someone who we see he is strange looking I think its about time you call the police because I’m sure someone saw this guy in the morning and did not call the police I know these guys aren’t representable I’m sure you can spot a crimminal

I feel for all of you still living in the Bay’s, unlike most of you I did not have much faith in the SAPS, hence the reason I immigrated overseas 7 years ago and will never look back, keep safe Bay people.

I think its time to take the law into our own hands and maby the police will then start reacting they always have excuses they don’t have transport but they use it as the local taxi service. Where is the days that children can play in the streets or in greenbelt parks.

We have had people that come to our city and commit these crimes and a certain area will be blamed.Well in our certain area, we have cought these monsters that gives us a bad name,we have taught them a lesson as a community. And we had a major decline in criminal activities.The police cannot solve this problem as they are just there for employment reasons othere than to serve and protect.We only call them to come and take a half-dead criminal and decide what to do with him. But for women,children,old people who cannot defend themselves its a serious problem, until theres an attitude change from our law enforcers then we shall all be safe.its also in our hands as communiity to look out for one another.
