AN Inkatha Freedom Party member has been shot dead and his friend is in a critical condition.
Njabulo Mthethwa (22) of Zondelage outside Ulundi was at a shop with friends when they were confronted by a an unknown gunman.
Ulundi Municipality Mayor Johanna Manana said she was also attacked while passing through the same area.
She has called on the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the suspects to book.
