A MAN was nearly shot by his neighbour in the Nsekayi Reserve on Saturday after a disagreement regarding a blocked storm water pipeline.
According to the KwaMsane SAPS, the victim was experiencing water problems and approached fellow community members about uncovering and unclogging the pipe.
However, one of his neighbours responded to the proposal by first threatening the complainant with a spear and then headed back to his house to fetch his firearm.
He returned with gun in hand, fired a shot but luckily missed.
‘We arrested the suspect at 8.30am the same day on charges of attempted murder,’ said KwaMsane SAPS spokesperson Captain Jabulani Mdletshe.
‘He made his first appearance in the KwaMsane Magistrate’s Court today, but we are still awaiting the court’s decision on the matter.’
