SuperSport Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month

Wade excels at hockey, cricket, swimming and athletics.

IN conjunction with the Zululand Observer, SuperSport’s Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month for August has been announced.

Wade Cooper, an 11-year-old Veldenvlei Primary School pupil has been awarded the coveted title.

Wade is passionate about sport, especially hockey, cricket, swimming and athletics.

This year he won the Junior Victor Ludorum title for swimming after he won all his races in the U11 category.

He is also the captain for the U11 hockey side and is a member of the U13 team. The sporty lad was also awarded full colours by his school for indoor cricket.

Wade represented KZN North in cricket in 2013 and this year again.

In 2012 he attended Richards Bay Christian School and there, too, he excelled and was awarded the Sportsman of the Year title, as well as the Boy Athlete of the Year accolade.

‘God gave me the passion and talent to excel in sport. My mum is my driving force. I have learnt that if you do your best in any challenge, you will eventually reap the rewards of your hard work and dedication,’ says Wade.

SuperSport and the Zululand Observer are looking for children aged between seven to 18 who excel in school sports.

The competition can be entered by nominating yourself or be nominated by a friend, teacher or coach at your school.

Every month, one deserving player will be chosen as the SuperSport Let’s Play Star of the Month.

The monthly winner will receive a ‘Let’s Play’ tog bag and hamper filled with goodies, as well as the opportunity to be featured on the Zululand Observer and SuperSports Facebook and Twitter pages.

At the end of the year, one star will be chosen as the SuperSport Let’s Play Star of the Year 2014. With some fabulous prizes to be won and the chance of appearing on TV, this opportunity should not be missed.
