Guardian Angels on the go
Mtunzini Guardian Angels are hard at work helping the elderly.
GUARDIAN Angels Mtunzini, the only branch in KZN, has been hard at work assisting the elderly, sick and lonely.
Guardian Angels is a non-profit organisation, run by volunteers who assist by offering transport to doctors, shops and hairdressers to those who cannot get there themselves.
It is a social organisation, making life a little rosier for the elderly.
There is a ‘social’ every Wednesday afternoon at the Anglican Church Hall in Mtunzini where people meet to chat and play chess, rummikub and cards.
The ‘Angels’ provide tea and coffee, sandwiches, cakes and entertainment.
Currently, Guardian Angels has set up a knitting programme. A group of very talented ladies are making amazing baby and toddler items, which will be donated to the needy in Mtunzini and surrounding areas.
Each branch of Guardian Angels has to raise its own funds to support the cause.
Every year, a a conference is held at the Guardian Angels head office in Nelspruit and this year, six volunteers from Mtunzini attended, thanks to a kind donation of a Hyundai from Tangawizi Motors in Richards Bay.
