Breaking News: Earth tremor in Richards Bay

Did you feel the earth quake?

RICHARDS Bay residents felt a slight tremor just after midday.

What was thought to be an earth tremor felt in Johannesburg seems to have affected KZN as well.

The Zululand Observer was inundated with calls regarding the vibration.

Readers confirmed on the ZO Facebook page that the tremor had been felt in Durban, Richards Bay and eShowe.

The quake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale.

  3. I was laying on my couch watching tv , I felt a vibration but thought it was my phone.my tv also shook a bit I thought I was imganining the movements and vibrations

  4. I live in Durban. Former resident of Richards Bay. I felt the earth tremor while I was at the office. A lot of my clients were evacuated out of the building and sent home for the day. Standard Bank was evacuated but could commence working about an hour later. Umhlanga buildings glass had broken and was subsequently evacuated and sent home for the day. We continued to work as the tremor did not affect us much, only our desks and chairs vibrated.
