Swazi princess, Zola Mafu has been part of the Zulu royal family for 10 years and has son with King Goodwill Zwelithini.

THE Zulu monarch, King Zwelithini married his sixth wife on Saturday in what is being described as a marriage fit for royalty.

They formally exchanged vows on Saturday.

Zulu warriors or ‘amabutho’ sand and danced traditional items as they celebrated the occasion with the King and his guests.

The 66-year-old Zulu king also participated revealing that he is still in good shape impressing the more than 5 000 guests in the Ulundi Regional Sports Stadium.

The bride was accompanied by an entourage of Swazi maidens.

A judge married the couple after the traditional ceremony under the watchful eye of his other five wives.

Among the high profile guests were President Jacob Zuma, Inkatha Freedom Party leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi, Provincial Premier Senzo Mchunu and ANC veteran Winnie Madikizela Mandela.

The new bride, 27-year-old Zola Mafu, will live at the official Ulundi residence with her 10-year-old son, Prince Nhlendla Zulu.
