ZCCI Empangeni Division elects new presidents
THE ZCCI Empangeni Divisional AGM meeting took place on Thursday at the Empangeni Country Club with the main item on the agenda being the election of the new Chairman and the Vice-Chairman.
One nomination was put forward. Since the current chairman, Mike Patterson, had already had two terms in office and could not stand for a third year, the nomination was for Dave Whittaker to take the role of Chairman and Mike Patterson as Vice-Chairman.
A vote was cast and the nomination was agreed upon by all present.
Other items on the agenda were the Chairman’s report for 2013 outlining the work done and the goals achieved by ZCCI Empangeni division.
Upcoming events were explained which include a number of workshops designed to benefit businesses, such as a SARS tax compliance workshop, a social media marketing workshop and a small business workshop among others.
Dave Whittaker closed the meeting after thanking Mike Patterson for all the work he has done for Chamber over the years, and thanked all who attended for their continued support and hard work in ‘making chamber what it is to day’.
‘As Chamber we need to work as a team. We have much to offer as individuals, but combined, we are even stronger.
‘There is a freshness back and as the voice of business we need to make Chamber relevant to all businesses and, in doing so, we will help emerging businesses become bigger and better,’ said the new Chairman, Dave Whittaker.
