Zululanders make their mark
Zululand women claim sixth place at the SA Country Districts tournament.
NINE Zululand women represented the KZN Coastal hockey team at the SA Country Districts tournament in Polokwane, Limpopo last week, where they managed to claim sixth place.
The KZN side consisted of the following Zululanders – Sandie-Lee Heyns, Meralda Bronkhorst, Jade Boyder, Kristen Klusner, Cindy Smith, Mari-Lee Visser, Liana Prinsloo, Shaydene Grant and Nicolene Dicks.
The side joined Eastern Gauteng, Southern Gauteng, Northern Gauteng, KZN Northerns, KZN Inland, Limpopo A, Limpopo B and Western Province at the tournament.
Mari-Lee Visser (4), Meralda Bronkhorst (4) and Cindy Smith (1) managed to score goals in their seven games.
Jade Boyder was selected as vice captain for the ladies SA Country Districts B side, alongside teammate Kristen Klusner (non-travelling reserve) who will compete in a tournament in Pietermaritzburg in August.

Lost to KZN Inland 5-0, beat Limpopo (B) 4-1, beat Eastern Gauteng 2-0, lost to Limpopo (A) 2-1, lost to Northern Gauteng 2-0, beat KZN Northerns 3-1 and beat Limpopo (B) 4-0.
