AFTER arriving at my car late Thursday morning after work, I was shocked to find it was unlocked and completely raided.
I parked my car outside Nedbank where I park it every day for work and left it there for only an hour.
I never feel threatened or worried about safety as the local vendors in the area know me well and I have built a good relationship with them.
Without any warning, the transmission was jammed while I automatically locked my car, leaving it unlocked.
The thieves succeeded in opening the car door without the alarm going off and all my possessions were taken including multiple cards, licences and my phone.
I immediately reacted by contacting my wife and alerting the banks to freeze my accounts, however they had already withdrawn money from one account.
My wife then alerted me of two calls she received at work from someone requesting a quote and her banking details to access her account.
I am shocked and upset at the incident and surprised they were able to manage such a task.
People jamming remote transmissions has become a common task to perform theft and I suggest everyone takes precautions when leaving your cars parked in an open area with no security.
