The winning crew from boat Area 51 managed to double the benchmark, after landing a 19.8kg Darado and claimed a brand new Beach Buggie for their efforts. FISHING fanatics packed their rods, tackle and bait boxes and took to the Richards Bay waters for the 21 Species fishing competition hosted by the Meerensee Boat Club.
With loads of prizes up for grabs and many fishing tales to be told, it was the team from boat Area 51 who took top honours after landing a 19.8kg Dorado.
The fish reeled in a Beach Buggie for the team.
The team of skipper Collin van Rooyen, Jason Travers, Chris Scheepers, Andries Fourie, Werner Theunissen and Christo Mans claimed the bragging rights for 2014.
Eugene Keyser weighed the first garrick of the competition, which came in at 8.7kg
And the winner is… Chris Scheepers with the 19.8kg Dorado he caught
