Z Heyns assisting Melanie Wilson at the adjudicating of the Zululand Eisteddfod Art at the Empangeni Museum
THE Zululand Eisteddfod began last week with High School Visual Art at the Museum in Empangeni.
Talented pupils from various Zululand schools showcased their artworks which were adjudicated later in the week.
The Eisteddfod covers English, Afrikaans and isiZulu drama, visual art, music both instrumental and vocal, ballet and modern dancing, school dance and public speaking.
Melanie Wilson from Durban Girls’ College adjudicated the art work.
Passionate about art, Wilson has a Higher Diploma in Education majoring in Fine Arts and has held a Collaborative Exhibition in 2013 at Gallery 419 in Durban with Heidi Shedlock.
‘I am very impressed with the art, these pupils are incredibly talented,’ said Wilson.
