
A MZINGAZI man who brutally assaulted his sister with a bush knife during a violent family dispute in April, was arrested this week and charged with attempted murder.
According to Richards Bay SAPS spokesperson Captain Debbie Ferreira, the accused appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody as the matter was postponed for a formal bail application next week.
It is believed that on the 24 April, the relatives were involved in a family dispute over their house and the accused attacked the woman with a bush knife.
She sustained cuts and injuries on her head and he also hacked at her wrists.
The victim is still receiving treatment and has lost the feeling in some of her fingers due to the nature of the injuries.
