Sixty three athletes of the uMhlathuze Athletics Club registered to take on the challenge of the 89,28km ‘down’ route from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

Finishing in a time of 7.38.52, Willie Shabalala was the first Croc over the line with Thomas Mthembu (8.04.37) and Brian Lamb (8.38.10) second and third respectively.
