ON the eve of Child Protection Week, a Zululand man was sentenced to 15 years in prison after he raped his seven-year-old brother.
The 20-year-old man, whose identity has been withheld to protect the victim, appeared in the eSikhaweni Regional court where he was found guilty of having repeated abused the boy over a long period.
However the abuse was only reported to their parents when it was witnessed by a friend.
According Colonel Jay Naicker of the KZN SAP Media Centre, a case of rape was opened at the Mtunzini SAPS and was investigated by the Empangeni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS).
Detectives from the Empangeni FCS worked around the clock to secure the conviction.

I honestly cannot believe what I read! It’s sickening to say the least. Abuse in any form or manner against a child is absolutely unacceptable! More harsh punishment should seriously be considered. I am extremely upset!
Let me get this straight. The man is from Esikhaweni and his ethnicity is not published, yet in a country where white people are a small minority, the newspaper uses a picture of a white child in this story. Is this not racist?

I also wondered why a picture of a white child was featured in this rape of a article when the victim and perpetrator are from esikawini.
Is the newspaper not allowed to show the true facts anymore.Just asking?
Ha ha what a joke .I posted my comments and got a message that i must slow down ,I am posting too fast
