Noisy bikes disturb the peace

A NOTE to drivers of scramblers/4-wheelers/Quads in the Meerensee area.

Those of us that are residents around Lake Sontwayo (the small lake in the area near Meerensee Spar/LAK Centre) are tormented most afternoons and every weekend by the roaring, revving and fumes of these machines.

Even at 2am on Wednesday morning, someone was riding his bike around and waking everyone up.

It’s very unpleasant when you are trying to enjoy a peaceful day outside or a braai, and these guys are roaring up and down through the area without any thought to the residents, or those folk trying to picnic or walk their dogs along the edge of the lake, trying to enjoy nature and the beautiful surroundings.

The birds such as the geese, storks etc are regularly chased off by these people.

We sometimes wonder when there will be a serious accident as small children play in the area, kick balls and fly kites.

This is a municipal and residential area and it is illegal for these people to scream up and down – but they do persist with no consequences!

Please guys, try to be more considerate and go and ride your bikes far away from buildings in the bush or forests or wherever but stay away from our homes!
