ON Wednesday night at about 6pm I drove out of the Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre towards Standard Bank and had the situation where the driver of a white Land Rover (Discovery 3, I think) and I both thought we had reached the four-way stop first.

I stupidly pushed in front and indicated to him that I thought I had got there first.

He must have thought I was giving him ‘the finger’ as he then changed direction to race after me and climbed out his car to confront me at the lights further down the road.

This sort of situation never ends well, so I sped off before he got to my car (fortunately the lights had gone green) and managed to lose him.

I apologise if I was wrong, and I’m sorry that my gesture was misinterpreted.
