New homes for desperate families

A house was allocated to an unemployed, widowed mother of nine children.

MINERAL sands corporation Tronox KZN Sands and uMlalazi Mayor TB Zulu handed over three new houses to families who have been struck by tragedy.

The first house was allocated to an unemployed widowed mother of nine children and grandchildren from the Ncekwane area under Inkosi Mzimela.

A second home was given to a resident who suffered the loss of two children when her house near Eshowe was struck by lightning in December 2012.

‘During the past two years she, and her other two children, were subject to the mercy of neighbours for a roof over their heads,’ said Tronox in a statement.

The third was handed over to the Zulu family of Amatigulu after their home collapsed and fell on two of their children who were killed in the accident.

‘Thankful beneficiaries paid tribute to Tronox and Mayor Zulu when they received the keys of their brand new houses,’ said Tronox.
