LOCAL Club hockey players sweated it out on Sunday at Addison Park, Empangeni with the hopes of impressing the selectors at the Zululand Club hockey trials.
Two men’s and two ladies teams were selected to represent Zululand at the KZNCD tournament in Pietermaritzburg from 9-10 May.
The players will be up for KZNCD selection that will compete at the SACD tournament later this year.
The teams are as follows –
Zululand Men’s A side – Mtho Nkosi, Darryn Mitchell, Wesley Yngsdal, Craig Campbell, Brett Schwikard, Andre Pretorius, Shaun O’Connor, Darrell van der Merwe, Warren van der Merwe, Berto Basson, Shaun Dafel, Ebdon Gibson, Alex van Wyk, Du Toit Pretorius and Shawn Naidoo.
Zululand Men’s B side – Storm Blignaut, Kyle Reeve, KG Shakwana, Anthony Kincaid-Smith, Dane Swart, Anthony Meij, Coen Fick, Ziphozonke Mashaba, Tristan Porter, Richard Jose, Phakamani Mthethwa, Bryce Husband, Philani Mthethwa, Spamandla Tshabalala and Paddy Lendrum.
Ladies A side – Louisa Illing, Natania Basson, Mari-Lee Visser, Brigitta Wellman, Sonya Kleynhans, Sandi-Lei Heyns, Nicolene Dicks, Leigh Barratt, Kristin Klusener, Linda Joubert, Liana Prinsloo, Meralda Bronkhorst, Cindy Smith, Jade Boyder, Nita van Rooyen (coach) and Ailsa Blignaut (manager).
