Cultural festival of fun
Community invited to join in multicultural extravaganza event this Saturday in Richards Bay
IT will be festive in Richards Bay this Saturday when the Multi Cultural Extravaganza gets underway at the circus site opposite the City of uMhlathuze Municipal building.
Hosted by uThungulu District and City of uMhlathuze Municipalities, the event, which coincides with the 20 years of freedom and democracy celebration, will unite people and provide a platform to celebrate and respect diverse cultures, honour Freedom Day, embrace diversity, build a sustainable nation and strengthen democracy.
The action kicks off with a street parade at 9am from Richards Bay Sports Complex to the circus site and includes a float parade, marching brass band, bikers, cyclists and community members.
This will be followed by a music and dance show at the circus site from 12.30pm as well as host of activities for children, a sound-off competition and interactive session with African Drumshack’s Durban Drummers.
Exhibitions and food stalls will be open till late.
