HONOURED for her passion and dedication to children at Brackenham Pre-Primary School, ‘day mother’ Ambra Perumal was treated to a surprise celebration on her 70th birthday last week.
The birthday bash was held to acknowledge the feisty and active senior’s contributions to the school and for her love and commitment towards caring for the pupils.
Perumal has worked at the school for 13 years and always goes the extra mile, is a cherished member of the school family.
She has no plans to retire any time soon and believes that working with children has kept her young at heart and in good shape.
‘If God keeps me strong I would like to travel the world including a visit to India.
‘I like to keep busy and enjoy cooking, travelling, catching up on Bollywood movies and listening to Hindi music,’ she said.
School Principal Shamilla Haribans said working with Perumal has been such a blessing.
‘Her strength, experience and advice will always be appreciated.
‘She is always on hand to help and offer her words of wisdom and support too,’ she said.
