Rhino poachers behind bars

The rhino horns were worth more than R500 000.

THE case against two rhino poachers has been finalised in the Richards Bay Regional Court on Wednesday.

Thulani Mbatha and Israel Muntungowakhe Khoza each received a six-year sentence for possession of rhino horns.

The two were arrested by the Kingsley SAPS members on 15 March 2013 at the Blood River crossing, between Vryheid and Utrecht.

They were caught with two rhino horns estimated to be worth more than R500 000.
