THE Zululand District Municipality (ZDM) mayor Cllr Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi has expressed shock on learning of the death of Ndlunkulu Thabisile Freegate Ndebele.
Ndlunkulu Ndebele was shot dead at her home at Mlovu in KwaCeza near Ulundi in the early hours of Monday morning.
She is the mother of the reigning Inkosi of the Ndebele clan and was a pensioner.
The motive for her murder is not known and police are investigating the incident.
‘Ndlunkulu was a very kind person and we currently don’t know the motive behind her murder. I condemn this incident in the strongest terms possible especially as we are going to the elections.
‘My deepest condolences go to the Ndebele family and the entire Ndebele clan for their great loss.
‘The murder of women is becoming a norm these days, which clearly shows that our society has lost the moral fibre of caring for women and children,’ KaMagwaza-Msibi said.
