Alton robbers flee with over R100 000

TWO armed men entered an Alton business premises on Thursday morning and held up four staff members before making off with more than R100 000 in cash.

According to police, no shots were fired and after taking a bag of cash from the office they then commandeered an employee’s vehicles, which also had a sizeable amount of money inside.

At around 3pm the stolen car was discovered on a dirt road near the Polaris sub-station close to the Alton robots.

Security guards had reportedly seen two men exit the car, one holding a green bag.

They headed for the John Ross Parkway, where they were apparently picked up by a getaway vehicle.
